Asexuality describes the lack of sexual attraction to other people, regardless of their gender. Asexuality should be understood as a spectrum that encompasses various identities.
The flag was introduced as the official Asexual Pride flag in 2010. It consists of four equal-width horizontal stripes. The colors, from top to bottom, are black, gray, white, and purple.
The top black stripe symbolizes asexuality, and the gray stripe represents the various identities on the asexual spectrum, such as gray or demisexuality. The white stripe has various interpretations. For some, it represents sexuality in general, while for others, it represents non-sexual partners and allies. The purple stripe represents community.
