Bi+ Pride Hamburg neuer PrideMerch.de Partnerverein

Bi+ Pride Hamburg new PrideMerch.de partner club

We at “PrideMerch.de – By Team Behinderte” were thrilled when our new Bi+ Pride wristbands finally arrived last Friday! But the wristbands alone weren't the only reason for joy. Even more important to us is the new cooperation with Bi+ Hamburg e.V.

When we started “PrideMerch.de – By Team Behinderte” in 2022, the CSD Bremerhaven team and a short time later the CSD Bremen team believed in our inclusive shop project. At the beginning of 2023, the CSD Wesermarsch team from Nordenham also joined and supports our unique rainbow inclusion project for queer people with disabilities.

Bi+ Hamburg e.V. gave us new momentum after a longer break and motivated our team again. We are very much looking forward to future cooperation!

Rainbow Inclusion Online Shop? What is that?

It all started with a spontaneous idea from Thorsten Höller, the initiator of Team Behinderte in the Queer Cities Network. When he casually said: "If the volunteers from CSD Bremerhaven can't sell their Pride wristbands, I'll just send them!", no one could have guessed that this would lead to the Rainbow Inclusion Shop PrideMerch.de – By Team Behinderte.

The idea and goal of PrideMerch.de – By Team Behinderte

Queer people with disabilities, who often work in workshops, rarely have the opportunity to gain a foothold in the rainbow sector professionally. Almost all LGBTIQ* facilities are involved in counseling, which often requires a pedagogical education or a degree. At the same time, voluntary participation in CSD or Pride associations is often made difficult by stressful workflows and heated debates, which makes it hard for people with disabilities to get involved. In addition, adapting team communication to Easy Language is a challenge for many organizations, which is usually abandoned after a short time.

This is where the Rainbow Inclusion Shop comes in. PrideMerch.de – By Team Behinderte offers queer people with disabilities a chance to be active outside of the CSD organizing teams. 10% of the sales of our partner products go directly to the cooperating CSD associations, which further promotes collaboration.

In our shop, we work at our own pace. If something goes wrong, we support each other. This way, we ensure that all orders are processed quickly and reliably, without getting stressed.

There is a silver metal clasp at the end. Purchasing this partner product secures jobs for queer people with disabilities outside of workshops.

A big thank you goes to the Bi+ Pride team for their trust in our Rainbow Inclusion project: PrideMerch.de – By Team Behinderte. Working with this dedicated team, spread across Germany, has been a great pleasure, and we are convinced that the fourth Bi+ Pride in Hamburg on September 28, 2024, will be a complete success!
